Wireless Cottage was built in 1908.

Originally two cottages for operators of the Post Office wireless station.

Later adapted to house the telephone exchange and residential accommodation for the family of the workers. The linesman lived in the other  cottage.

The house was refurbished into one large dwelling house boasting a spacious and comfortable accommodation for

ourselves

Eriskay is 13 miles from Lochboisdale. You cross the causeway from South Uist views of Barra in the distance.

 Eriskay is where the SS Politician sank with the cargo of whiskey.

Bonnie Prince Charlie landed on Eriskay aided by Flora MacDonald heading to claim his crown. The bay near the ferry terminal where he landed. Beautiful beaches pretty island to explore .

The ponies on Eriskay are called Eriskay ponies and are genetically unique to Eriskay used to work on the land and shores in bygone times.
